Hatch Wines is a distinguished Australian wine producer founded in 2021 by veteran, legendary winemaker Chris "Hatch" Hatcher. With a career spanning five decades, Hatcher has been instrumental in shaping some of Australia's most renowned wineries, from Penfolds to Wolf Blass. Never being able to leave the trade entirely, Hatch Wines is his retirement project, with a focus on the grapes his native South Australia is most famous for: Shiraz & Riesling. Taken from one of the highest points in the Barossa Valley, this St Johns Barossa Shiraz 2022 is rich and powerful, with deep notes of blackberries, plum, and dark chocolate. Silky tannins support layers of mocha, spice, and a touch of liquorice. Full-bodied yet refined, with great balance and a long, elegant finish. Decant now or cellar for 8–12 years. Perfect with grilled ribeye or aged cheddar.
